Bangkok to Jakarta Indonesia

Departed Bangkok about 9:30 AM. Took about 40 min to climb to our assigned altitude of 11,000ft. We have about 220 gal. of AvGas on board. Clear sky for about an hour than light rain and in clouds for an hour. Now out of clouds.
Just crossed  3° North latitude. We are now about 180 miles north of the equator.
We are now 60 miles north of Singapore and 550 miles north of Jakarta, about 4 hrs out, just in time for dinner.
Spoke to our meteorologist and dear friend Steve Pellettiere around 6AM. He sent satellite pictures of current Wx which included equator Wx.
We just crossed equator a few min. ago. We are now over Sumatra. WX looks good… mostly stratus clouds. I do see a few building cumulus, but several thousand feet below us.
Just landed! Only 9 hrs 30 mins enroute. We were whisked away through customs and immigration in minutes.
SkyPlan has been doing an amazing job for us with overflight permit’s, landing permits and ground handling which helps us refuel and get to and from the airport.
They also help us with hotels.
We are now at our hotel enjoying a pretty good Chinese meal. In about 15 minutes we both collapse into our beds.

Marty and I both slept great. He woke up ahead of me and went downstairs with his thermos to fill with coffee and his favorite coffee cup  from South Africa…  a little beaten up, but still able to fill. I caught up with him around 8:30 AM. He is trying many different types of Thai food for breakfast. I guess I’m still a traditionalist and grab a cheese omelette and a couple pieces of danish. We now are working on getting visas over the Internet for Australia, no big deal. Marty spent most of the day catching up on emails. I of course found a high end mall with stores like Gucci and Prada. I was able to find a couple of things that would keep me cool when we get to the South Pacific. Just two short sleeve polos. I found a very good Japanese restaurant and enjoyed a sushi and sashimi lunch.
We are having our last dinner in Bangkok, at the hotel steak house.
We plan to be at the international airport around 8 AM in preparation for a 9 AM departure to Jakarta, Indonesia, that should be about an eight hour flight. I checked weather earlier and it looks like it should be no issue for our departure tomorrow morning. I did make a hotel reservation for tomorrow at another JW Marriott in Jakarta.
Please continue to follow our trip and contribute to the
